There were 50 persons from Rugaland. Among them 11 were Bhutanese. Journey started from Stavanger and some of our Bhutanese took bus from Haugesund but we took it from Førre on Thursday 3.6.2010. On thursday evening we stayed in Voss in hotel. On Friday 10 am again we started our journey towards Lom. We spent one night there and on Saturday tour started towards Galdhøpiggen the highest mountain peak of Norway. Any way we successfully reached on top of it and got a diplom and badge. On my journey I learned and experienced many things and was able to extend friendship.

Project

These days we are quite busy for a project. In our school there are many students from different countries but for this project, Bhutanese students are selected. Nine countries are included for the mission. For that we will make our class as small Bhutan. We have already pasted some pictures from Bhutan on the walls of our class rooms. We will make Bhutanese food and tea for the participants. Actually we are focusing to teach Nepali language in Southern Bhutan for Norwegian people. For that some of us will teach Nepali, some will translate it to Norwegian and some will interview. Their main aim is to know how difficult it is for people from another country to learn a different language. So we are hoping to do our level best.

A New Way

It has been already one year on 5th Feb. this year that I am in Norway with my mother and brother. When we landed in Karmøy airport it was already eight O’clock and it was dark. Due to misunderstanding there was no one to receive us in airport. After waiting for a long time luckily we got one leady and got help to contact with our coordinator. After sometime our coordinator, with another Norwegian lady, reached the airport to receive us. At 9 o’clock we reached to our apartment. Due to tiredness we slept without taking anything.

When I wake up the following morning I found that the surrounding was covered with snow. It was very difficult for us to go outside because we hadn’t got any experience with snow before. After one month, I started my language school. Learning a new language is always a big challenge. I got desperate; I could understand nothing. As the time passed by, I got little used to with learning Norwegian.

To live in a place with a complete different culture is another challenge. I believe that I must learn the way of living here and at the same time I must preserve my long lived culture. Today I enjoy learning a new language; I am proud that I understand one more language of the world. It is wonderful for me!

Skolen i hjemlandet mitt

Winter in Norway

Though winters in Norway are chilly cold, we are enjoying it with snow which we had never experienced before. Playing with snow is a real fun. I don't hope to go skiing very soon but love walking around when it is snowing.

Have a fun with my photos.
